Firstly, to those who have sent messages wondering why I havent been online as much lately: My wife Erica is now 9 days overdue with our first. Between the Thanksgiving Holiday over here and the new addition to our family things have been busy for me on a personal front. We're heading into the hospital tomorrow to give nature a helping hand, so by Monday I'll have a new daughter and some sleepless weeks ahead. My plan was always to ensure the game's release before the baby arrived which was the main driving factor behind the small incremental release date pushes which have caused frustration for so many of you. That and my optimistic appraisals of how quickly i could finish things up Many people have suggested pushing back to the start of the 2010 season, and although that has never been the plan until now, that's the way that we're going to have to go. It's going to be a few weeks before i can start getting any significant work done again, and even then it's likely to start off slowly with plenty of interruptions. Moving to 2010 makes sense on so many levels and will give us the chance to get things right and ensure that the game realises its full potential. The list of things that will take place between now and the release looks comething like this: - Fix remaining bugs & continue testing. - Change to Premiership Coach 2010 - Update players lists and stats - Complete and balance all player ratings - Integrate latest Xceed grid control (enhancement) - Complete Manual - Create Demo - Create Editor

Is it possible for you to show a realistic release date in 2010?

Congrats on the new addition!
I know how nuts things can get with a young family and it's for the best that you don't just rush the game out before it's ready.

Hi there, what's the status with the release date - still in time for the start of the season?
I've been following the progress since 2008, can't wait for it to be finished!
BTW, maybe the forum and site logo should be changed from AFL Premiership Coach 2008, to AFL Premiership Coach 2010...

As well as updated lists and bug fixes, the extra time has given me a chance to look over a few of the things that people gave feedback on. This week I've been working on removing the weekly autosave to speed up the game flow.

aussie_love wrote:i really dont want to bring this upp ... but is this a scam?.. i mean comon. A scam that has a working beta that has been updated and out for months. pretty elaborate to scam people by actually creating the producted they are pretending to sell.... Oh wait a minute thats not a scam they are in the process of delivering what they said they will deliver........

sdb4884 wrote:Hopefully this game is released before the start of the 2010 season. Still looking good for the start of the season. For those who have the preorder, you'd be familiar with the weekly autosave. I also had feed back on the game slowing down after multiple seasons. I've used these last few months to speed things up significantly. The autosave is gone, which means that the game plays a LOT quicker, and I've done a lot of performance work to get rid of the slow down over time. The last few days I've done a lot of benchmarking and that slow down is fixed. The next week or so will be cleaning up a few little bugs that are left over as a result of those changes - a bit of a ripple effect.
